Who are we?
Headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, with locations in more than 130 countries, SAP SE is the world leader in enterprise software and software-related services. The SAP language services department currently supports the delivery of standard solutions in some 40 languages.
The language technology division has been using Rule-Based Machine Translation (RBMT) technologies for internal needs and communication with customers since the 1990s. In 2012, a prototype gisting system based on the Moses Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) system was created to respond to the growing demand for a new approach to machine translation. SAP eventually decided to embark on an extended voyage towards the SMT horizon in 2013.
